Challenge

Achieving a battery life of over 5 years on a coin cell while transmitting location updates under high vibration and variable temperatures.

Solution

Implemented ultra low leakage power gating, hardware level state machine handling for RFID protocol, and a high efficiency sub GHz transmitter.

Outcome

Successfully deployed 10,000+ units across central European warehouses with a measured standby current of under 1.2 µA.
