Overview

A Wi-Fi and BLE enabled compute platform designed for secure IoT sensor aggregation and edge intelligence applications in environments with intermittent connectivity.

  • Configurable analogue input front-end, digital I/O, and I2C/SPI sensor buses.
  • RF-optimised design with an external SMA antenna interface and low-loss feed network.
  • Dual-source power management (primary cell or solar harvesting) with load shedding.
  • TLS-encrypted MQTT transport and local data buffering to prevent connection loss.
  • BLE-based configuration workflow for secure, zero-touch device provisioning.

Challenge

Securing remote edge nodes against firmware extraction and unauthorized network joining in high-density sensor grids.

Solution

Utilized ESP32-S3 hardware encryption features, flash encryption, Secure Boot V2, and a hardware secure element.

Outcome

Delivered a zero-touch provisioning workflow allowing nodes to securely connect to AWS IoT Core out of the box.
